Dear Governor Manchin,
The US 50 Association, which also deals with regional transportation issues, at its November meeting discussed the US 220 North South Corridor with the representatives from Alan Mollohan and Shelley Capito’s office. The Tier 1 study is nearing completion and funding for their portion of the Tier 2 study has not been requested by WVDOH. Both Congressional office representatives suggested that your office formally request funding for the US 220 Tier 2 study from their congressional offices.
The US 50 Association is a participating agency with the Federal Highway Administration on the US 220 North South Corridor project that will connect Corridor H to Interstate 68. Bill Wood at the WVDOH office in Charleston has attended both the US 50 Association meetings and the US 220 North South Corridor meeting and can fill in additional information as needed.
